Large-particle Avicel PH-200 and higher density grades Avicel PH-301 and Avicel PH-302 boost productivity by improving flowability and enabling larger batch sizes. We offer a wide range of Avicel  grades to meet all formulation needs.

Attribute and Benefits

Avicel PH’s unique properties make it an indispensable formulation tool. It is the excipient of choice for direct compression formulations, lending superior compactibility, drug carrying capacity, and rapid disintegration. These properties also benefit dry granulation processes such as roller compaction or slugging. Avicel acts as an auxiliary binder in wet granulation, helps control wet mass consistency, reduces screen blockage, and promotes uniform, rapid drying. Avicel is an excellent extrusion-spheronization aid. When included in capsule formulations, Avicel improves flow, facilitates plug formation, and aids capsule disintegration.

Loose Bulk Density Analysis

Loose bulk density is a fundamental parameter that helps characterize attributes such as flow, tablet size and blending characteristics.

Although a simple analysis, LBD analysis requires a standard consistent approach.  It is critical to follow specific techniques while performing the LBD analysis of microcrystalline cellulose to obtain accurate, reliable, reproducible results.
